π The Still of the Night
There is something special about the stillness of the night.
When the world becomes quiet, the phones stop ringing, the day’s responsibilities have come to an end, and there is finally a moment to simply be.
I find a certain kind of peace in those quiet hours.
The stillness gives me an opportunity to slow down and listenβnot necessarily to the sounds around me, but to the thoughts and feelings within me.
Sometimes, in the quiet of the night, I find myself reflecting on my day.
What am I grateful for?
What made me smile?
Who did I think about today?
What blessings did I perhaps overlook?
And sometimes, I simply sit quietly and enjoy the peace.
A Time to Reflect
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to appreciate silence in a way I didn’t always understand when I was younger.
Life can be so busy.
There are always things to do, places to go, people who need us, and responsibilities waiting for us.
But nighttime has a way of slowing everything down.
The house is quiet.
The lights are soft.
The world outside seems to have paused.
And for a little while, there is nowhere else I need to be.
I can simply enjoy the stillness.
Perhaps it’s an invitation.
Learning to Love the Quiet
So tonight, if you find yourself awake in the quiet, don’t always think of it as lost sleep or an empty moment.
Slow down.
Breathe deeply.
Be grateful.
Reflect.
Pray.
And simply enjoy the stillness.
Because sometimes, in the quietest moments of the night, we can hear what our hearts have been trying to tell us all along.
With love and serenity,
